Over the years, I have gone through a process of connecting with different schools of traditional wisdom and human knowledge as a way to understand better the essence of the self and how we are connected with the essence of "all". Through this journey, these different platforms of understanding bring some level of awareness to one or another side of life, from working more in focus with the mind, or the body, or even the soul. But, in a very smooth way, they all emphasise the importance of the interconnection with "other", this "other" being defined as another human, another as the family/ community, another as our culture and our background, our belief systems or even "other" as nature or even   the cosmos. This journey had gone from playing attention to the micro and try to make sense of the relationship between the "I, me, my" and the the greater and broader reality that we experience looking at the influence of the "macro" in who we are and how we perceive ourself in relation to our environment and experience.

It is impossible or unwise to think that we are isolated entities, working on our own, co-creating our world independently. But it is also unwise to think that we do not have a level of agency and responsibility in relation to our experiences and decisions. Both can be contradicted when we look from a systemic lens, where and how we connect to the world around us. As human, we are privileged as we can make sense that we are interconnected and influenced by so many factors, stimulus and experiences, and those will in a way or another shape and define who we become and how we relate to others and the world (similar that how the attachment theory relate to the internal working model). But, from a more holistic point of view, we start to identify and explore what else influences us, what else comes in relation to our energy field and modifies or affects our energy and personalities.

Let's think about the environment you are in, the interconnection with nature, and all the research showing that the influences on that nature connection have on our general health and, more particularly, on our mental health. But what if we go a step further, let's think about the influence of the planets and stars, even the position of those planets at the moment of our conception and birth. And how in many traditions the study of astrology helps us to understand the influences of the cosmos on who we are, or what kind of tendencies we are guided by those planets to be identified with. It works as a guidance for the understanding of the connection with the"macro" in a very profound and holistic way, taking into consideration the transpersonal in relation to the influence of past Karma, family influence, you in relation to others in this material world, but also you in relation to the projected and hidden side of your mind and soul. It is like a very sophisticated and multi-layered map of you, allowing the influence of the earth and now, what you do and how you connect with that framework or structure to design the end result of your life and potential future ones. I guess that this richness is what has kept me more interested in Vedic astrology over the last 9 months... it is like discovering an ancient tool that had the ability to see from the closeness of the self to the faraway of the cosmos and everything in between....
