Holistic, Integrative & Transpersonal Psychotherapist

Psychotherapist, Shamanic Practitioner & CLINICAL SUPERVISOR in UCKFIELD-SUSSEX

On faith as a medium for my profession:

Living as a Spanish Hindu in the UK is a path layered with complexity — culturally, spiritually, and professionally. It's not a common identity, and I’ve learned that few people expect someone with my background to be both a Hindu and a psychotherapist. But for me, this blend is not a contradiction. It’s my foundation.

In my capacity, working with children who have experienced complex trauma, I feel that my dharma is both deeply rewarding and emotionally intense. These are young people who often struggle to make sense of their world — children whose sense of safety has been disrupted by loss, abuse, neglect, and trauma. While my western forensic and clinical training equips me with the psychological tools to support them, it is my faith that nourishes my ability to hold space, to stay grounded, and to offer genuine presence, even in the most difficult sessions over the years.

Hinduism, for me, is more than ritual or tradition — it is a way of being. The teachings of the Bhagavad Gita resonate in my daily life and practice. When Krishna tells Arjuna, “You have the right to your actions, but not to the fruits of your actions,” I am reminded to show up fully for my clients without becoming attached to outcomes. Healing does not take a single path or road. Some children take small steps forward, others take many steps back. My role is to walk beside them, not to carry them. This is the same approach and practice that I hold and honour when working with adults in all my capacities.

Spiritual practices such as mantra chanting, meditation, and daily puja give me a rhythm, a source of renewal. I often listen to sacred texts on Audible during long drives between client visits — the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, the Srimad Bhagavatam. These stories don’t just inspire; they strengthen me. They remind me that resilience is always possible, and that divine presence exists even in chaos.

My faith also shapes how I embody therapeutic values: non-judgment, compassion, and deep listening. Though I don’t speak of Hinduism in sessions unless invited, my spiritual grounding allows me to remain present, especially when my clients’ stories are painful and overwhelming. I carry my dharma quietly — not as a label, but as a lived commitment.

Being a Spanish Hindu and transpersonal therapist in the UK means standing at the crossroads of culture, belief, and healing. But through that intersection flows a deep willingness to share love, strength, and grace through my work and life.

Hari om tat sat.
